Our Roots
The Green Life sprung from owner, Scott O’Brien’s, move toward a more eco-conscious lifestyle and his yearning for a one-stop shop for lifestyle and home products made of organic or eco-friendly materials. “I wanted to create a store where people would be encouraged to do the same by finding everything they need for their home and body, without sacrificing quality or the planet.”
The store initially began as a thesis project for a graduate degree that Scott was pursuing at nearby Loyola Marymount University. After months of research and product sampling, he realized that an eco-friendly lifestyle store could be more than just a school project. The Green Life Company was then formed and soon after, in July 2008, The Green Life opened its doors on Main Street in Santa Monica!
